The New York Giants are hiring Mike Shula as their offensive coordinator, a source confirmed to ESPN. Shula previously was offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers?from 2013 to 2017. Shula is also expected to serve as the Giants' quarterbacks coach, while new head coach Pat Shurmur handles the playcalling duties. Offensive assistant Ryan Roeder will also stay on the staff, according to a source. The Shula hire was first reported by NFL Network. Shurmur's staff finally appears to be complete after the search for an offensive coordinator took some twists and turns. The Giants were recently denied permission to interview and hire Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Kevin Stefanski as their offensive coordinator. Shula worked with new Giants general manager Dave Gettleman during their time with the Panthers.
